Spanning almost two decades this was Dan’s previous entrepreneurial venture. Starting as CommerceSoft, becoming FastCart, then ultimately becoming WebKit Inc, we provided web design, web programming, and web hosting solutions to a variety of businesses.
WebKit published the BlackBox coding framework for ColdFusion, and then another one called CFKungFu. In PHP we released the Mercury Framework and currently run our own Mirrors framework.
Large clients included: Netscape Communications, HP, Carlson-Wagonlit Travel, Hartford Life, SkyMall, and Paramount Pictures, City of Castle Rock, City of Casper, BMW, Fallon-McElligott.
Smaller clients included static web sites, ecommerce sites, private social network sites and more.
On the big-data front, Dan was also architect of WolfNet’s MLSFinder.com service for six of their formative years. This site aggregated MLS data from real estate markets and let agents and brokers put searchable listings onto their own websites. His design led WolfNet into their initial 40 markets on a single code-base while allowing for flexible design and per-customer customization.
WebKit also provided back-end services to several designers and hired them as needed for own customer work.
